Event Details

Dr. Elliot Engel returns to discuss one of North Carolina's most famous citizens, Andy Griffith. While it's true that he was a brilliant movie and Broadway stage actor, Griffith is a Hollywood immortal because of The Andy Griffith Show television series which ran from 1960 to 1968.  Professor Engel not only analyzes Andy’s astonishing early life which led to his television triumph, but he also reveals little-known fascinating facts about the show’s production and its enduring and endearing fame. The program starts at 2:00p.m and tickets will be on sale prior to the program, at 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for Friends of the Library members (you can join at the door) and $2 for students.
